OG image checker
Paste a URL and see its link preview, Open Graph tags and what to fix.
About OG image checker
Before you post a link, check what people will see. The checker reads the page's Open Graph and Twitter tags, loads the preview image, and shows the card the way X, LinkedIn, Slack and Facebook render it, with clear pass, warning and error notes for anything that will break the preview.
- Use an absolute https URL for og:image; relative paths fail on most platforms.
- Keep the image at 1200 by 630 and under 1 MB.
- Add twitter:card = summary_large_image or X shows a small thumbnail.
How to use it
- 1Paste the page URL.
- 2Read the preview card and the issues list.
- 3Fix the tags, then check again.
Questions
- Why does my preview show an old image?
- Platforms cache previews. Change the image file name, or use the platform's own debugger to refresh, after you fix the tags.
- Can I check a page on localhost?
- No. The checker only reaches public addresses, for safety. Deploy a preview first.
- Is anything stored?
- Only the URL you type is fetched by our server, once, to read the tags. Nothing is saved.
