About Remove silence
Long pauses make recordings drag. Set a loudness threshold and a minimum pause length, and the tool finds every stretch of dead air, shows them on a timeline, and removes the ones you keep ticked. Works on video and audio.
- Keep a short padding, around 150 ms, so speech does not clip.
- Lower the threshold for quiet speakers, raise it for noisy rooms.
- Typical talking-head videos lose 10 to 25% of their length.
